Problems With Your Hair?
A lot can go wrong wih your hair, especially if you like styling it. Although doing things with your hair looks great, it can be a ticket to split ends, grease and more. Here are some tips for any problems you might have, if I haven't mentioned something you need help with then comment your problem below and I will answer it in the next post.
1. Split ends
Split ends occur when the protective outer layer of the hair cuticle wears away because of external stressors such as heat styling and salon chemical services. There are a few things you can do to fix it:
Use a wide-tooth comb: After you apply conditioner in the shower, slowly run a wide-tooth comb through hair until all the tangles are out. This prevents the snaps and breakage you can incur when you try to brush out hair that is roughed up from a towel-dry
Blow-dry the right way: Always use a nozzle on your dryer to control and direct the flow of air, and dry hair in a downward direction before sectioning off and drying completely with a round brush. This way, you spend far less time with intense heat straight on the hair.
Use leave-in conditioner: Conditioners that you rinse out in the shower will do little to nothing for split ends, but a leave-in conditioner will add extra protection that stays on strands as you heat-style and go about your day. Consider Pureology's Essential Repair Split End Correcting Treatment, which you apply after every wash on towel-dried hair for best results.
Hot Oil: Hot oil is cheap to buy from any supermarket, V05 being the best. It's easy to use and is perfect for problems caused by warm weather.
2. Frizzy hair
Frizz is basically water getting into the hair shaft and causing your cuticles to lift. So that's how you get that sort of puffed out big look with frizzy hair.
Silicone, dymethicone, cyclomethicone, anything with cone in it, you want to look at the ingredients and make sure it says that. What a silicone's going to do is it's going to come in and it's actually going to stuff the gaps in the hair shaft and coat that hair shaft. Now if your hair's on the fine side you need to be a little light handed with this. Your Frizz Eaze, your Smooth Down, your Biosilk, any of those products do have silicone in it. So that's actually going to coat that hair shaft preventing that H2O from getting in and then that's going to stop that hair from being so frizzy. It's best to apply these products to dry hair. So just make sure that you use a silicone based product and your frizz will be gone.
3. Greasy Hair: Oiliness of hair depends on how increased separation of oil on your scalp. Greasy hair differs with shine roots, sticky strands, and often greasy hair accompanies dandruff.
Powder Put a little powder on the hair at the roots along the parting and comb it carefully along the entire length of hair. The powder absorbs the most of the grease from your hair and gives them a clean and healthy appearance throughout the day
Wash Reguarly, and use minimal conditioner.
4. Tuggy Hair
Tuggy hair is a pain, the main cause it laziness when it comes to combing it properly and using the right products that suit your hair type.
Wash Wash hair reguarly and use condtioner on the hair below your ears.
Comb Comb before towel drying and any sort of drying really, make sure it's rinsed out completely. Comb with a fine comb starting from the bottom, whenever you reach a tug, start at he bottom of it and dip the comb in the heart of the knot and quickly pull down, keep doing this until you get rid of it completely. Once you've combed it all, Comb it through again an hour or so later and keep doing this until it's dry. You shouldn't always have to do this, but the first time you attempt to get rid of the tugs you may have to.
5. Slow-Growing hair
The truth about "growing hair fast" is that it's not true. You can't make your hair grow faster, but you can do things to preserve the natural growth of your hair.
Last of the cuts get your hair trimmed one last time before you start growing it, tell the hairdresser you just want a trim, and that you are planning on growing your hair. Try to get a straight cut, without any layers. Hair appears longer as soon as it's all straight. Your hair shouldn't need cut for 5-7 months after.
Tie it up This will actually help you feel as if you have longer hair if you tie it up reguarly, it also means when you do stop growing it, you can feel a bigger difference.
6. Thin hair
Thin hair is normally natural. It can sometimes be caused by a lack in calcium or hydraition.
Style it The best thickening styles include over-night waves (French plait damp hair over night), Big curls, Half-Pony tail (Taking the front parts of your hair back in a ponytail), Clipping parts back
7. Thick hair
Thick hair is healthy, but normally hard to manage or looks messy.
Style it Toning hair styles include: Pony tails, Straightening, Plaits, Side-ponytails,
I hope this helps with whatever problems you might have, if you have any others please feel free to comment!

Wow, that's really good advice! My hair is quite thick, but I just noticed that when I used conditioner and shampoo in the shower, the next day my hair was thinner and shinier. :)
