'If you don't like me, then say it to my face!'

Hey guys,

I haven't posted in a while and most of my posts have been video related, so this is more a rant.

So many times I've heard people say 'If you don't like me, then why don't you just say it to my face!'. Mostly on facebook, (which btw is incredibly hypocritical, if you want them to say it to your face, then say that to theirs!) I've never had it said to/about me personally, but I can guess what someone might feel who heard that about them.

The truth is, in the big adult world, there will be so many people that you meet and dislike, but have to work/get along with. Honestly, the mature thing to do is to just not mention it. It's better the slight tension being with them than fighting or open hate, it's really hard to work with someone like that.
And truthfully, if someone I thought might not like me said it to my face, I'd be quite personally offended by that, rather than just keeping it secret. In these situations, ignorance is bliss.

I know some people might think it's strong and shows courage to act like you can take insults like that, but really everyone is hurt at least slightly by these types of comments. I don't tend to take offense, I mean if some handed you a thorn, would you take it? No! Because it's going to hurt you! But I do admit, when someone says something bad to me, I take notice. I don't take offense, but I do consider whether I believe it or not, but every time it happens less and less, so it's improving.

In conclusion, if you suspect that someone dislikes you, then at least be glad they are doing the mature thing and attempting to work with you. Step into their shoes, they are the ones who have to endure someone they dislike, they don't need someone threatening them about it! And honestly, if someone came up to you and went 'Hey, yeah I don't like you.' you would take notice.
