Wednesday 26 October 2011

Questions needed!

Hey guys, so I'm doing this video in a while called 20 questions and a while ago bubzbeauty said that she tags everyone watching to try and do this so I need random/personal questions that I can attempt to answer in a speaking video which will be fun to do:L
I know this isn't really a proper post, kinda down a wee bit today so not really in a thinking mood!

Tuesday 25 October 2011

Something I wanted to get off my chest!

So as you probably already know, I've started doing youtube videos and to be honest, I didn't expect them to do too well but they're actually doing better than I thought! (Details about next vid in last post) The reason I started doing them was because I saw people like Lindy Tsang, Daniel Shim etc, people I look up to on youtube. It really warms my heart when I get a good comment or a new subscriber, honestly my heart actually feels warm! But people like Lindy actually inspire a lot of people, despite that they were always doing beauty vlogs or comedy vlogs, it was still inspiring and I've learnt a lot. I started these videos because I hope that one say I can inspire someone like me. I definetly mean someone like me, as a few years ago I was coming back from school crying every single day, because of these others girls and what they were doing to me. I had my entire yeargroup thinking I was a mean awful lier because of the things they said, and to be completely honest, in some ways, it's even worse now. But the difference is I never come home crying, I never cry at all actually. It's strange, I don't even feel sad. I cam to the conclusion that I've grown a thicker skin because of it, and it was Lindy Tsang herself that made me realise that they are in the wrong and that letting them get to me would do nothing for me.
She was bullied in her childhood as well, so hearing this and seeing how beautiful and sucessful she is now made me think I can do the exact same, and whenever I'm a bit lost I just watch her inspirational vlogs category vidoes, and by the end I'm ok again.
The reason I realised how thick a skin I'd grown was because another girl I new had gone home and stayed off school from humiliation by a few people about something, yet just before the holidays I heard for myself someone telling a big group of people in my class about something I did and I didn't feel anything from it, I just left it and didn't get hurt or sad at all.
At first I thought something was wrong with me, I even thought I had aspergers! But it turns out I've just gotten stronger. Well, so I think!
Today, I decided in the morning I'd note my whole day. The things that try to get me down, and the things that bring me up. Here's what I came up with:

Good:

  • Girl telling me she loved my art work that I hardly knew
  • Getting invited to a halloween party
  • Taking part in a secret santa
  • Not being the one sent out of my group in French to move seats
  • Being told by 20+ people that my necklace was cool:L (Pic at bottom)
  • A girl telling me she loved my hair
  • Finding out my art teacher's pregnant
  • Signing up for Music Champions event
  • R.E.
  • Art

Bad:

  • Girl I was good friends giving other people presents that I don't particularily like!
  • Witnessing a girl tell others a lie about why she was sent out of class so they didn't judge her for what she actually did
  • Not talking to anyone all through science and being the only one listen
  • Listening to girl I know talk about me in music
  • Not talking to anyone through art
  • Listening to girl talk about girls in the class in art
  • Girl shouting "DOESNT MATTER" rudely at me, then turning to another girl and telling her what I was asking about.
  • Watching girl I used to be best friends with laughing and having a good time with another girl and then talking about me
  • Boy telling me my shoe was retarded, I told him his face was retarded
  • Blonde jokes
  • Girl I love to bits ignoring me
  • French teacher being herself. Which yes, is a bad thing for me.
So yeah that's my notes from today. If I have a particularly good/bad day I'll do it again, I suppose this was a good day for me really. Nothing was worse than usual, but things were better than usual. Yesterday was worse, but I won't list everything. Especially before the holidays when my best friend and I first started drifting and I think I counted 6 times in a week that I'd heard her talk about me, let alone when I hadn't heard her.  But it's all down to making the right friends, and thats what Lindy was getting at once, of course you are going to have a rough time if you make friends with people that aren't nice. Because, truth is, if your friend is talking about people to you, they are probably talking about you to other people.
I think a perfect friend is someone who you can trust with your life, someone who will put you first and will never fail to remember the little things, even stuff like getting you a little something when they go away to say "sorry I was gone". When you know that you can cry with them and they'll cry with you, I know in the past I've been upset and all it's done is made them happier somehow. A perfect friend won't call you a slut because you flirt with someone you really like, they won't judge you for the things you do that maybe aren't particularily cool or normal. I remember one of my friends a while ago making fun of me just because I was being friends with someone that was usually quiet and alone. I've even been made fun of for things like people I like or doing the right thing. The perfect friends are out there somewhere. They are hard to find, but luckily I have found them, so it's not impossible.
Just remember, if you feel like you've been searching forever and you can't find anyone, you are wrong because you've found me and I promise to try my best to be the perfect friend to whoever it is that really needs one.

PHEW, Feels good to get that out! Anyway, if you wanna hear more stuff like this check out my old blog, www.rantsforthought.wordpress.com

If you want me to do anything else like this on a subject you might be having trouble with then just message me:) Back to normality for tomorrows/later today's post:)

Here's the amazin' necklace I wore around school all day! (You might of seen it in my videos!)

My fave online shops + Next vid idea!

Hey guys, Li-j^-^ Next vid will probably be top 5 cheap makeup products and expensive versions then then I'll make one side of my face the expensive and one the cheap makeup etc etc... Anyway could be as late as Saturday till that comes up but will be soon!

ANYWAY, this post is about my top fave online shops, but I thought that'd be a little boring so it's
Gonna be more about my favourite lesser known online shops.

1. www.yesstyle.com/en

It's an Asian fashion store, so it's the best way to get the style before everyone else as most trends start off here!
Sweet and simple.

1. F-DNA, Long sleeve soop neck print tee, £13.00

2. OrangeBear, Embroidered striped cardigan £16.25

3. OrangeBear, Sleeveless Floral Ruffle dress £13.65

4. Tokyo Fashion, Striped knit top, £17.55

P.S. These things are all actually on my Christmas list!^-^

2. www.shopbubbi.com

As you know I am a massive fan of Lindy Tsang, otherwise known as Bubzbeauty! This is her online store with her own products, there aren't millions of products, and they can run out of stock sometimes but when it's there it's great!

1. "I Miss You" Navy top, £15.99

2. "B-ball" blue top, £14.99

3. "iHeart you" White top, £14.99

4. "Smile" Yellow/Navy top, £15.99

P.S. Few of these on my christmas list too!

I also love the "YOU make ME smile" top, but I couldn't fit any more on! I lvoe them all really, I have about 5 on my Christmas list!

I'll put a pic of the "bubbi" makeup brushes at the bottom!

3. www.chicksrule.co.uk

This truly is the coolest shop on the list, it's all David and Goliath clothing, and thanks to Lucy Clark, they one of my favourite brands!

1. "How I Roll" Headphones £25.00

2. "Cupcakes Are Evil" Womens lined hoodie, £39.00

3. "I Need A Hug" Womens T-shirt, £20.00

4. "Mushi Mushi" Womens PJ set, £40.00

The PJ set is on my Christmas list! I love it to pieces!

* This is the brand of top that I won, I'll put a pic of of me in it when I get it!

*When I typed that I realised I hadn't checked the post and got really excited when I saw the "Sorry we missed you" card, Was just my step-dad's work stuff:(

4. www.cutejapanesefashion.com

This online store is full of cute clothes, sorta like Yesstyle,  but it's slightly different.

1. Thick Stripe Jumper, £15.99
2. Soft bear hoodie, £19.99

3. Full Skirt Evening dress £14.99

4. Heart Sweater, £12.99

The only thing I'll say about this website is that the sizes are quite small, the biggest size I found was a 12 so you may either have to pay extra to get a bigger size on some or try to squeeze into something smaller if you are 12+ !!
Nothing here on my christmas list, only just recently found this site otherwise that heart jumped would be at the very top!

5. www.forever21.com
This is probably the most well known site, it's elegant and young!
1. Textured dress w/ belt, £11.50

2. Live in the moment tee, £11.50

3. Pinstripe skinny jeans, £19.75

4. Striped dolman sweater, £19.75

Nothing in this store here on my list, I mean it's ok but it's not really my style, but I wanted to put something a little bit different on this list!

I hope you enjoyed this! Halloween is coming up soon, so I'll show you my Misa Amane costume as soon as I have everything ready, got a halloween party so I'll get some pics from that! Here are the bubbi brushes!

"Have you ever wondered?"

Have you ever wondered,
How life would be,
If you of all people,
Were the size of a pea?

What a strange life it would be,
But I don't see many problems,
Life may not be very steady,
Except that maybe,
Maybe we are already.

Maybe we never noticed,
Who we really are,
Because in comparisment,
We haven't come very far,

From the unknowing babies,
To the joyful children we yearn to return to,
Have you even begun to imagine
What life would be,
If you were the size of a pea?

In all honesty, would it be different?
Would it change your life today?
If so, what would you say
If I told you, you are the size of a pea?

Now tell me, do you see a pea or yourself?
Exactly.
Now I may tell you you are the size of a pea,
But that is never who you are meant to be.

I am officially the most bored person on this Earth. I never thought I'd say this, but thank GOD for school tomorrow.

LATERS MY LOVERZ AND HATERZ<3

2 min quick spring hairstyle

This hairstyle is perfect for people with thick or thin hair, it works with layers too.
It's cute, it's girly and perfect for spring

Step 1: French plait the side of your head, to french plait, simply plait bur add a little hair to each side of the plait, It's actually a Dutch plait but we call it the french plait! Plait down to th bottom of your head, going around your ear. Secure on the back of your head with a bobby pin.

DO THIS TO THE SIDE YOUR FRINGE ISN'T ON
(Don't look at my picture it was a mistake!!)

Step 2: Do the same to the other side, but secure at your ear lobe, make sure you are leaving a little at the front.

DO THIS TO THE SIDE YOUR FRINGE IS ON
(The pictures wrong;L)

Step 3: Now secure in place with a bobble, to finish off the look add a spring inspired for an exrra spring-like glow.

Thank's for reading hope it works out for you^-^

Tonight/tomorrow I will be putting up a DIY facemask from Bubzbeauty and reviewing it, getting the stuff today so I'll tell you how it is!

GetTheLook=Benefit makeup set, "her name was Glowla"

Makeup can be expensive, normally most people would only get benefit makeup or clinique for a birthday or christmas, but what if you could have the look but minus the big price tag? Well now you can! On these posts and possible some videos, I'll show you how to get any expenssive makeup but only using well known makeup brands such as collection 2000, maybelline etc. and I'll try and get it as cheap as possible.
I will finish with a step-by-step guide, word-for-word from the instructions in the set.
My first is the benefit makeup set "Her name was Glowla", I've had this set since Christmas, and although it's gorgeous I just feel like I can't use it as it was £28.50 and my normal makeup is usually costing around a fiver.

NOTE: I have not been payed by any of these brands to do this, this is my genuine opinion and research!

It actually hasn't changed a bit since I got it.

The front of the box

The look is supposed to be glamourous, benefit uses characters like Glowla to make the users feel as if they are being someone else using makeup. To get the same aura from your cheaper glowla kit, keep everything in a seperate bag and label it "The glowla look".

CORALista blusher

The first piece in the set is the CORALista blusher. This grabbed my attention when I was at the benefit counter a few months before last christmas, my mum got the set for someone else and saw how much I liked it and how it had everything I liked in it and got it too. The CORALista was the firs thing I saw though, it's an excellent colour.

MUA £1 blushers, only at superdrug. You may of seen this counter, it's excellent. The one on the left is shade 2, it's a slightly pinkier version of CORALista, but the one on the right is nearer the colour so it's your choice. These blushers are slightly lighter though, so be   sure you use a little over a darker foundation to get it exact.

The next product is the eyeshadow, For the first your looking for a white eyeshadow with a touch of shimmer, to make it seem pearly as states the name. Once again, MUA £1 makeup counter comes the the rescue, there's two shades of pearl but the closest colour is shade 1. I think the best would actually be the two mixed together, but spending as little as possible just get shade one.

Add a little white to this to complete this pearly look .

For the peachy sheen, you are looking for a light pink, similar to CORALista but slightly sleeker colour. If you want a palette for a little more value for money, try this:

These collection 2000 palettes are slightly lighter versions of the benefit palette, the single at the bottom is almost exactly the same as terracotta satin. The white in the middle of the palette could be a pearly white but it's not quite as good as MUA. All three are easy to blend, crust resistant and 8 hour lasting.

The next product is "highbeam" and "moonbeam"
"Moonbeam" is slightly creamier than "highbeam", these go around your eyes to highlight and exaggerate the eye area. They are also good for keeping eyeshadow on longer and covering up dark circles, making your eyes the most dominant part of your face in this set. The best replacement is hard to show as all it really needs to be any concealer lighter than your own. One shade or two will do. 17 concealer is the cheapest I can find. Just make sure it's one shade lighter at least. I'll put a price list and where to get them at the end.

"Passion pink pout" Lipgloss, and collection 2000 "beatbox" lock'n'hold (up to 6 hour wear) lipglosses are extremely similar, a light pinky and corally shade gives off a slim and sleek lip shine and glow. Collection 2000's is  little more netural though, so be sure to wear it minimally.
Miss sporty "hollywood" lipgloss in "my limosine" shade is the same price but with a bit of extra gloss, I'll add both at the bottom.

The last product is the mascara. Mascara is hard to find a match for, am I'm not sure how they come out. I know that the Bad gal lash is a dark, dark black and has a stiletto effect and a large brush, so I've looked for that.

"Maybelline Volume Express" Mascara in "Turbo boost black" Has a thick brush, a low price and good reviews. I honestly think for this look, all you need is a good mascara thats dark and deadly, this is perfect.

So that is the makeup that I found is the closest to the benefit set. I'm going to use the descriptions from the book, edited to fit this post, to make sure you get the perfect application with your new found glowla set.

Step 1 "Sweep MUA shade 2 or 4 blusher from the apples of your cheeks to the hairline using a flat blusher brush for a flamenco inspired flush"

Step 2 "Use your light 17 concealer for a cool luminescence, apply to tops of cheekbones, brow bones and down the bridge of your nose; blend for seamless radiance.
Step 3: "Highlight hues: Taking the eyeshadow palettes and working light to dark, apply MUA pearly white or collection 2000 pearly white colour with a fluff eyeshadow brushto the brow and blend. Next, sweep a light peachy colour across eyelids up to brow bone.

Step 4: "Define and contour: Apply middle bronzy shade across eyelid with fluff shadow brush. To contour, blend a light brown into eye creases, starting at the inner corner of the lids, working outwards.

Step 5: "Legendary liner: Apply a deep bronzy color with a hard angle brush along the top and bottom lash line. For an added smokey effect, reapply and blend with the hard angle brush."

Step 6: "Apply maybelline express volume mascara to top and bottom lashes for lush, voluminous black lashes. Reapply for drama and intensity"

Step 7: "Passionate pink pout: Use collection 2000 "Lock and hold" Beatbox shade or Miss sporty "Hollywood" Lipgloss in "My limosine" lip gloss over lips for a lucious, light pink colour.

Your glowla look is complete!
